General Meeting May 4th 2009
Members Attending: Boson Au, Dileep Monie, Evan (Co-op member) Anna Ricklin, Noah Bers, Lars Peterson, Tim Barnett, Gabby Vizo-Meza, Barbara Carignan(Co-op, prospective collective member),  Ben Scully. Anton Schaller (late!)

Bike Blast well-organized for us, under-promoted by city? Our booth was well-attended.

Orders outstanding for tools, awaiting invoices for last parts&supplies order

Proposals:
Donate three or four unrepairable vintage bicycles to local artist <X> for sculpture installation in front of BBW
Alternately: Install sculpture on 4 W. Lanvale St?
Tim: can he or she come to our meeting and submit a proposal?
Ben: Is this only a question of giving a way a few rusty frames, or…
Anna will contact landlord re: installation of sculpture on exterior of building

Proposal: Go ahead with funding racks: total cost: $1,100 for materials >>  AGREE
Proposal: Close shop for week of May 17-24 (closed Wed, Thu) & do spring cleaning

Discussions

Email List vs on-line forum.

>>AGREE to “take it to the forum” for some discussions with email heads-up

501c(3): Accountant needs some information:

  • Articles of Incorporation stamped by Dept. of Assessment and Taxation
  • Copy of current bylaws
  • List of officers (everyone) and directors (President, secretary, Treasurer)

Everyone in collective should complete this by the end of the week:

  • Full Name
  • Qualifications
  • Skills and experience
  • Avg. Hours worked per week
  • Duties (committee work, etc)

As-is waiver, what does it mean?

Ben: Can bikes be sold as-is at all?
Boson: As-is policy was to address extenuating circumstances.
Anna: maybe we need to open the Sunday shop to build-a-bike work.
Tim: proposal: as-is waiver is not for build-a-bike bikes >> AGREE

Tim: This is a mixed message, we shouldn’t concentrate on high-end
Lars: Can we sell bikes on consignment?

Evan: Add case parts onto Build-a-Bikes?
Noah: Is this a significant source of income?

Selling high-end bikes (on internet? consignment, etc?)
Get real telephone service with the ringing box and the thing that you put next to your head
